XUNGLEE / VAT
VAT percentage calculator
Calculations stay in your browser. No invoices stored.
Display only; no currency conversion. All results use 2 decimal places.
Rounding: nearest minor unit, half away from zero. Single calculations round net and VAT for display and reconcile gross; removal derives VAT as gross minus rounded net. Invoice lines round quantity × unit price first, then VAT per line; totals sum rounded lines.
This calculator provides estimates for convenience and does not constitute tax or accounting advice.

Formulas and explanation
VAT percentage = (gross/net − 1) × 100. Enter both prices in the same currency. Net 100 and gross 120 imply 20%. A zero net cannot define a rate. This does not establish whether tax was applied legally.
Rates can change. Verify current tax rules with HMRC or a qualified professional. Presets do not determine which rate applies to a supply. Zero-rated and exempt are different treatments.
